It started with Chika
In 2016 Chika, co-founder Sander's border collie, suffered a severe head injury. During her recovery the family tried a natural hemp-based product; within months she seemed happier again and coped better with thunderstorms. Chika is still with them today.
Years later Sander, Alex and Eugenio met at IE Business School in Madrid and founded CandidTails in 2021. Without investors, the company grew through vets: clinics and wholesalers, not supermarkets or Amazon.
Three founders under 30
Eugenio Gulminelli Barrau
Italian-Argentine, from Mar del Plata, based in Madrid. Wanted to be a vet as a child; lives with his senior German Shepherd. Former corporate lawyer. Speaks EN, ES, IT, FR.
Sander Rijk
Belgian, from Antwerp. Chika is his border collie. Speaks NL and EN.
Alex De Cort
Belgian, from Antwerp. Former consultant at Bain & Company. Speaks NL, FR, IT and EN.
